Back in my 20s, one of my favorite places to go for lunch was Palomino, where their chop-chop salad was pure perfection. Before they closed a few years back, I was thinking of them and did an online search to remind myself of the ingredients...and found the actual recipe, including the scrumptious vinaigrette! It was a good lesson - find something I like, make a note of the menu, and see what you can do to imitate it at home. In a world of now-$20 salads, it's an investment worth making.
