Rather than installing shades or curtains on the kitchen window above the sink, I created a natural way to filter the morning sun, retain the view into our backyard, and add a few houseplants to boot! With a piece of scrap wood & wire, borrowing a hole saw kit from the local tool library, and using my trusty cordless drill and sander, it was a pretty quick project that makes me smile each time I see it!
