Garden Meditation

My favorite thing to do is to get out into the garden before the rest of the world has awoken. Not to do work, but to simply sit out there and be still. I can't recommend it enough if you have a quiet space you can go, or can create, to immerse yourself in even if just for a few minutes, before you start your day and before the ambient noise in the the outside world turns up its volume. Not only is there that opportunity to breathe, but be mindful and notice the tiny details you'd otherwise miss when rushing around, whether it be the sounds of your neighborhood birds, the whirring of bumblebees and other pollinators on the flowers, noticing what is about to come into bloom , finding amazement in how quickly a sunflower can grow, or even admiring how your statuesque alliums look almost as beautiful after flowering!

"My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece." ~ Claude Monet
