Japanese Kerria: “Pleniflora”

With many nicknames, the double flowering kerria is one I've known as the Japanese Rose since seeing it for the first time growing in my nextdoor neighbor's yard, slowing finding its way to our side of the fence...yet unlike blackberry brambles, this flower was definitely not annoying!

It is definitely on the weedy side, yes, but looks to be perfect to fill in a spot in our garden near our side gate where it's part shade and VERY much will benefit from the brightening up that only a happy yellow flower can provide. And growing up to 8' tall? Take over the area, please, it's yours! This is just the first blossom (I'm a wee bit excited), so I'll report back next year when it's (hopefully) big and bossy...

"And over it all, the butterflies swarmed, like a million yellow-petalled flowers dancing on swirling winds." ~ Steven Erikson
