Yellow definitely seems to be the color in the garden I'm most intrigued with expanding, and these Welsh Poppies that I found growing near our elderberry shrub, along with my neighbor's side yard that faces ours, have really made me fall even more in love with these bits of sunshine. They hate super hot weather, easily self-sow in a non-annoying kind of way, can deal with serious cold due to their long taproot, love part shade (or the understory of trees which gives that nice dappled light) AND...? They are NOT actually poppies - they are 'poppy-like".
So cool learning about flowers, dontcha think?
