OK so I've posted this particular variety before. In fact, twice. But I can't help it - isn't this the most gorgeous pink flower evah?
These were the very first flowers I planted in our front garden this past fall. I knew I wanted to see them lined up against the fence, and their hardiness being infamous, I knew they'd survive just about anything. And dang did they ever - 9 degrees this past insane winter? No problemo. Being planted with their backs to the late afternoon sun (whoops)? No worries whatsoever. And while they are not technically drought tolerant, they can definitely survive being a bit forgotten, which is how it made it into our front garden.
I'm thinking it might be a good year for saving seeds and letting these gals share their pink awesomeness in the back as well, ya know? These ones are doing pretty well, but remembering how I planted them along the path at our last place, I'm thinking our path in back could benefit from similar explosions of poppies...
