My Planet: Saltwater State Park, Washington

A couple of decades ago, I checked off an item on my bucket list - get up before dawn and photograph bird life while the sun rose. That came in the form of a trip to Saltwater State Park, south of Seattle, near the apartment I lived for a summer in the mid 1990s. It was indescribably peaceful, and reminded me of all the possibilities if we just slowed down, observed, and stopped taking for granted this beautiful planet of ours. Moments like this aren't easily forgotten...but should not be this rare.
