Looks similar to an earlier post, I know, but with one difference - these berries are MUCH smaller. With our odd spring, a huge bout of rust and other viruses attacking much of our Fruit Forest, causing leaf loss and more, it's been the most unusual season for blueberries I've seen. The soil we have in this area of the garden clearly needs more amending to improve the drainage and help retain water so these grow to the massive plumpness that the Jersey is known for. The bush was COVERED with blooms and the bees were happy as can be to pollinate all three of our varieties, but the ups and downs of the season mixed with whatever we've got below ground has definitely impacted quality. Fortunately we're harvesting a ton every day, but most berries on this particular plant are half the size of what they should be. Argh...
