When your ducks are middle-aged (ours are 6), it means they take their winter break seriously. And, like the extra-long cold season we've had here in the Northwest this past year, that meant an even longer spell between fresh, delicious, organic, homegrown eggs courtesy of our girls. While only one has been regularly laying this week and one quit back when we were on the farm (after getting chased by a neighbor's dog who trespassed onto our property, our little Khaki Campbell - Cocoa - never laid again after that), it's a start, and we'll absolutely take it!
